At Cromwell High School we stress the importance of being on task in the classroom. Student engagement can only occur when students are in school and on time. With that said, CHS has been experiencing a high volume of families calling their students out of school via email. In some occurrences, we are receiving requests at 1:55 PM for a 2:00 PM dismissal. We recognize that emergencies occur from time to time but a majority of dismissal requests are non-emergent in nature. When requests for dismissal come via email at all times of the day it creates a disruption to the main office and teachers in the classroom. We also believe that dismissing a student from school for non-emergent reasons is contradictory to our mission and purpose. Students need to be in school and in class.

Moving forward, all non-emergent dismissal requests should be submitted to the main office prior to 9 AM. Requests must be handwritten and cannot be via email. If approved, Parents/Guardians will need to come to the main entrance to sign their student out of school for the day (with the exception of students who drive to CHS).

Use this pre-written Early Dismissal Note and have your child bring it to the office before school begins to schedule an early dismissal.
