Please congratulate Michael Anderson for placing 6th yesterday in the 300m Hurdles at the State Open Championship meet. This performance earns him All-State Honorable Mention and qualifies him to compete this Saturday at the New England Championship meet where he is seeded 15th in all of New England! He also owns the school record time for this event, running a personal best of 40.59 seconds. This is a tremendous accomplishment.
Other notable performances from the past two weeks include:
At State Class S Championship:
Kayla Nappi placed 8th overall in the High Jump, jumping 4 feet 10 inches.
Audrey Dana set a new personal record of 28.11 seconds in the 200m dash.
At the State Class M Championship:
Michael Anderson, Jaden Wynn, Daevyon Lovelace, and Emeka Yearwood placed 2nd in the 4x100m relay breaking a school record with a time of 44.07 seconds.
Jaden Wynn also made All-State honors placing 3rd in the 100m dash and 5th in the 200m dash.
Michael Anderson placed 4th in the 300m Hurdles.
Daevyon Lovelace placed 6th in the 100m dash.
At the Shoreline Conference Championship:
Jaden Wynn was first-team All-Conference in the 200m dash,
Michael Anderson was first-team All-Conference in the 300m Hurdles
The boys 4x100 of Jaden Wynn, Mike Anderson, Emeka Yearwood, and Daevyon Lovelace got 2nd team All-Conference.
Victor Payne earned an honorable mention for placing 3rd in the 110m Hurdles and 3rd in the High Jump.
Other Notable performances include Audrey Dana in the 100m dash placing 6th, Gianluca Albert in the High jump placing 5th, and the boy's 4x400 relay of Jovan Marerro, Lukas Witkowski, Mike Anderson, and Jaden Wynn placing 4th.
